Angry people often come from angry families!
In angry families, nobody listens until you get angry; therefore, anger becomes a method of getting others to realize you are serious. It becomes a method of getting your own way. If you grew up in an angry household, you may think it is normal. Have you ever been around families or couples that actually bicker with one another all the time? They constantly throw out threats, insults, and sarcastic remarks towards one another.
Kids learn from their role model and repeat the same behavior in their life,
passing it on to their families.
Parents disciplining out of anger trying to make their kids obey them.
Parents getting angry and putting a guilt trip on their married children to come home at Christmas.
Wives controlling their husbands through anger.
Husbands using anger to control their wife's spending, and on and on it goes.
If we are angry with someone; and are honest with ourselves, we may find that the root of our anger is the fear that we are not going to get our own way. Pride always becomes angry when it does not get its own way, and not treated in a special manner or if inconvenienced.
PEACE IS NORMAL FOR THE BELIEVER
You and I must unlearn things we have learned, while we are learning new ways of doing things. The bible says, we cannot put a new patch on an old garment, and this just means that we need to be willing to get rid of our stinking thinking and replace it with the truth, a renewed mind, (God's way of doing things).
In Ephesians 4:20 - "If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Thank God for His Word and the Truth that sets us free!
You and I should seriously look for answers, not excuses and no matter what caused the anger, take responsibility for it and deal with it properly. It's time to face the facts and time to get honest with ourselves.
Say, "I am angry."
Say, "I have to deal with this emotion."
Now say, "I have to deal with it in a Godly way."
Think before you speak or act.
Speak and act out of wisdom, not emotions.
Say, "I have the fruit of self-control".
Go somewhere and cool off.
Proverbs 25:28 says, "He who has no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls." Proverbs 16:32 says, "He, that ruleth over his own spirit is better than the mighty man who takes a city." 11 Timothy 4:5 - Paul told Timothy to be calm, cool, and steady. I have saved myself from putting my foot in my mouth several times by checking with God before I begin telling my husband whats on my mind! Many times I will hear the words, "JUST LET IT GO". Timing is everything in confrontation. I need to be honest with you, I want you to know there has been several times where I have missed it by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, but thank God, when I repented, He forgave me, covering my sin with His love.
He is the God of the second, third, fourth...chance!
