The Realm of Reason

Great men of God have said, if you can hold the devil in the faith realm you can whip him every time. However, if he can hold you in the realm of reason, he will whip you every time.

To me, it would look as if the realm we are more familiar with will get our greatest attention. The more we familiarize ourselves with spiritual things the easier it will be to access them. I have found that reasoning and worry are two of Satan's greatest devices in life. Reasoning takes place when we think about something over and over and over, trying to figure out what happened, trying to understand what people are thinking, or trying to decide what to do in a situation. Reasoning causes confusion and can easily make us vulnerable to deception. Trust requires some unanswered questions, and being satisfied to know that God knows what we don't know. We know in part, but God knows everything. He is never surprised or without a solution. Many of us try to figure everything out in our minds and reason it to death, so we can feel safe and in control of our life. It is important for each of us to know our "weak spots" and pray that when we are tempted in these areas that we recognize and resist the temptation. James 4:7 says, " Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee. Please understand I am not suggesting we become passive and never try to do anything to help ourselves solve our problems, but we shouldn't frustrate ourselves trying to do what we cannot do.

Daniel 11:32 - "The people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits.

Knowing, seeing, hearing and following God become the tools for continual growth and success. Come out of the familiar and step into His presence through His Word, through prayer, and being still before God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - The Bible is profitable for teaching, reproving, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
