Fasting Criticism!

One of the biggest problems in relationships is an abundance of criticism and a lack of edification.

Some of us have problems in our marriage and we could turn it around in less than a month if we would commit 30 days to fast every critical comment and just be quiet about it.

We have the power to do something about our future. That power is located under our nose. If there is any place in our life that we need to exercise discipline and self-control, it is in the choice of our words.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it, Proverbs 18:21. In James 3 it says the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity and out of the same mouth we can either bring blessing or bring destruction to those around us.

Fast criticism and complaining and add the good stuff!

  • Treat your spouse the same way you would like to be treated - honor each other!

  • Think about how you can make their life worth living by being the kind of person you would want to love, hug, come home to and sacrifice for.

  • Do at least one unexpected gesture as an act of kindness

  • Buy your spouse something that says, "I was thinking of you today

Your enjoyment in marriage is still linked to the daily level of kindness expressed.

Ephesians 4:32 - Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

IT TAKES 21 DAYS TO BREAK A HABIT -PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!
