What is the Real Problem?

Over the years, many people have come to me with what they consider to be their problem and sometimes after listening to them, I can usually locate what the actual problem really is. In most cases, it goes deeper than what they just described to me.

We tend to look at ourselves through rose colored glasses and others through a magnifying glass. Rather than look within, we look out, pointing our finger at our partner, our co-worker, our neighbor, our parents, or our children.

We can handle everything!

Sometimes we aren't handling life very well because of what is going on in us, and rather than acknowledging that we have limitations, we push through until our bodies can't take the stress anymore and we break down and become very ineffective with those all around us.

It's amazing that so many of us don't have any idea that our problem could be what's going on on the inside of us, and not our circumstances or the people around us.

First things first! When you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, confused or angry, STOP, take a deep breath, and get wisdom from the Word of God. Below are a few scriptures that you can think on to settle your mind down.

John 8:31-32, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." It's not the truth about someone else that will make you free, it's the truth about you that will make you free!

Take hold of God's peace so your mind can hear what the Spirit of God is saying to you.

John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Psalm 139:23, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting."

2 Corinthians 13:5, "Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?"

Galatians 6:4, "But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."

STOP, STOP, STOP, get off the treadmill of life, be quiet, stop talking, and start listening to that still small voice on the inside of you saying "let go of this, let go of that, get more sleep, change your eating habits, etc.

So often, our answer is under our nose and yet we bypass it because we either don't like the simplicity of it or we want to make our problem bigger than it is.

None of us were built or created by God to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. HE is God, we are not! God's intention for our lives has never been for you and I to struggle with exhaustion or defeat. His plan for us has always been to bring us life and life more abundant.

1 Peter 5:7 Amp.version - Cast the whole of your care, (ALL your anxieties, ALL your worries, ALL your concerns once and for all) on Him, for He cares about you (with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully).
