You Are One Of A Kind!

My heart's desire is to see every child grow up knowing they are valued, knowing that they are made in the image of God, and knowing that they can fulfill all the potential they have within them. Whenever I see a brand new baby, I stand in awe at the potential gifts that are all wrapped up in this tiny little bundle of life, just waiting to be unwrapped. All of us have talents we were born with. Does God have anything to do with this? Is He the source of our talents and abilities? The Bible answers this in Psalm 139, where it shows God at work, creating us during the nine months before our birth. Verse 13 says He knits us together in our mother's womb. Our unique fingerprints, and DNA all bear witness that God was personally involved in our creation.

Each of us was handmade by God.

We are naturally gifted. It was God's choice for us to be born. God purposefully made us! As He was weaving us inside our mother's womb, He gifted us to accomplish a particular destiny, according to verse 16 it says, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. The Bible says the gifts and call of God are irrevocable. They are for life. This refers to the natural gifts that He wove into us during the nine months inside our mother. He doesn't withdraw them if we turn away from Him. We can use our gifts to become a great artist, a talented performer, a record breaking athlete or a successful entrepreneur, yet choose to be selfish and corrupt. Or we can choose to seek God's will, recognize our natural gifts, and let Him unwrap them in His time! Even though God has planned our destiny, we will need to seize it. We will not receive it passively. If we try to do what someone else has been gifted and called to do, we will end up frustrated and confused. But when we do what God has called us to do, we will feel at home. We will be relaxed with ourselves and with our calling. We will be stretched and challenged, but His call is thrilling, never boring.
