What Do You Love To Do?

Do any of you remember the song on the radio years ago called "Que Sera Sera", whatever will be will be, the futures not ours to see...? I started singing this the other day for no reason and as I thought about what I was singing, I realized, THIS IS SO NOT TRUE, I need to stop singing it. We can't just sit back in our easy chair and take whatever comes our way in life and think whatever will be will be. We need to rise up and go after what we love to do!

Are you waiting on God or is He waiting on you?

I believe the majority of the time He is waiting on you and me.

Isn't it incredible that so many people devote their lives and time to a career that has nothing to do with their God given gifts and abilities, spending their entire lives trying to change the way God made them. In 1 Corinthians 7:7 ..."Each man has his own gift from God."

So often we look at others, wanting to be like them and duplicate what they are doing because it looks so inviting and glamorous, especially if it looks like a position of authority, leadership, power or a position of rank.

We get easily distracted and neglect our own profession or calling and divide and shift our attention onto people that we assume have a better profession. Can I tell you that the grass always looks greener on the other side.

Deep down inside, if you are a teacher, teach, if you are an artist, draw, if you are a musician, then make music. Be what you are and you will be at peace with yourself. Do what's most natural to you. The more you learn what to do with yourself, and the more you do for others, the more you will enjoy your life.

Pray that God will make His purpose known to you. Psalms 138:8 "The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord endures forever."

I heard this statement one time that the average person's life consists of 20 years of having parents ask where he or she is going, 40 years of having a spouse ask the same question and at the end, the mourners wondering the same thing. God wants us to take the initiative, to make the first move, and to live our life on the offensive. The door of opportunity won't open unless you and I knock on the door. Being on the defensive makes us feel in control, protecting our position and our false sense of security. The bible says in Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." I read somewhere that Wayne Gretzky was asked about his secret for continually leading the national hockey league in goals year after year, and his reply was "I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been". Great advice! God is the author and finisher of our faith, but it is our responsibility to step out by faith so HE has something to work with.

I believe that we would accomplish so much more in our lives if we would stop viewing them as impossible. They might be impossible for us to do on our own, but when God gives us a vision or a dream, He also gives us the wisdom, understanding and direction and the people to go along with it.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WHEN YOU PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD!
